Turkey Chili

a healthier and delicious alternative to traditional chili

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 green peppers, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 18 oz diced tomatoes
  • 7 oz tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups chickpeas or great northern beans
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • salt + pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Dice green peppers & onions, mince garlic
  • Add to a stock pot or dutch oven with avocado oil, sauté for 3-4 mins or until fragrant
  • Add in ground turkey & cook through
  • Add remaining ingredients
  • Simmer for 20-30 minutes
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool until warm, not hot
  • Add to gallon sized freezer bag and freeze
  • Remove from freezer & fully thaw when ready to eat
  • Dump contents of bag into stock pot or dutch oven & reheat
