I’m so excited to share this gluten free banana bread recipe with you guys! Is there anything better than the smell of banana bread baking throughout your house? It’s just so cozy and inviting and makes my mouth water! Some days just call for a warm, delicious loaf of banana bread, and I love making mine with wholesome ingredients that agree with our bodies a little better.
This recipe is easy, you can get it in the oven quickly, and is perfect to whip out anytime you’ve got some spotty bananas on hand. And if you haven’t already guessed, it’s gluten free! I actually have a banana bread recipe here on the blog already, but that one is a bit different. It uses oat flour (oats are not necessarily gluten free, as they can be processed in facilities that process gluten-containing foods). This recipe also does not call for eggs, like my original, but does include flaxseeds. I love the subtle nutty flavor the flax provides, plus this recipe is easier to throw together if you don’t have any eggs on hand! Ever since going gluten free (ish) I’ve been experimenting more with recipes, and this one was just too good not to share!

For gluten free flour, this one or this one is my favorite. I love that you can just directly swap it out with traditional wheat flour as far as measuring goes, makes it super easy!
I really need to do a whole post on why I went gluten free and my experience. I’m no longer strictly gluten free now, as I’ve found I can tolerate sourdough no problem and I’ve also been experimenting with einkorn flour recently as well with no issues! I will have to come up with a banana bread recipe incorporating those, as they are kind of my new obsession. In the meantime, you can check out my original banana bread recipe here, my other fav whole food sweet treat here, and if you want to jump on the sourdough train – check out how to make a sourdough starter!
